Carry a portable DVD player around with you Del..........

I can't imagine a hard copy NOT being included.

Or have the PDF version sent to your smartphone. If you do have an iPhone, you're done - all the IM's are within official ML's app - I'm sure it will get updated with CTX3030 IM as well - it's good enough if you would need to check some of the settings out there hunting without carrying 70+ printed pages with you.

I do not think it comes with a full printed user manual, only the CD version, so I printed a copy on my color printer and had my wife bind it for me at her office, it looks great. I know any copy place can do the binding.

I notice with a lot of international companies that they include instructions in multiple languages. Well, that would be a bit expensive with a big manual.
I also think that it makes things a lot easier to just have the same things packed in every box, outside of plug type for the country. So, it is easy for them to justify leaving out the manual - though we all expect it.

It would be nice if they shipped printed manuals to the dealers and they could just include them with our orders. This machine ain't cheap, really, include a nice color printed manual. It is a part of the feeling of quality to get a manual and not one of those AOL CD's (eheeh, remember them everywhere?)

I did the same I printed it and just used three hole punch and put it in a binder, you could use one of those softback folders with the metal tabs and keep it seperate on do like I do, keep it in an three ring binder along with the other manuals and brochure and any pertinent info, such as many of thes posts so I will have everything together. Did this with the E-Trac and now have two massive binders of info on it.

There is a quick guide booklet, but the bulk of the manual is on a DVD. As is other exciting software.

I do the same thing. Manual is already downloaded to my Blackberry Torch and Playbook, so can can look at it anytime as well, phone for quick lookup, and Playbook in car for larger looksee.

You know I thought a tablet was one of those things you just really didn't need. I mean I have a really small laptop. But I bought a refurbished Toshiba Thrive Android tablet just because it was cheap. I already have a CLEAR portable modem that allows me to receive WIFI where ever I am and most places I have traveled to.

Well let me tell you, I don't know how I lived without that tablet. It is so much handier than a laptop. I was giving a talk this past weekend and when I was in the hotel, I just laid in bed, connected to Netflix and watched a crime drama.

You can pick the refurbs up for about $300.

I call forward the office phone into SKYPE and I can answer the call from anywhere. I have GO TO MY PC, so I can connect to the office computer and spit out an invoice and shipping label. It's pretty darn spiffy.

One of those things I didn't even know I needed.

I have an IPad that I purchased for work and use it all the time there. I have the manual on there and read it. It definitely suffices, but it also isn't the best way to read a manual. Yes, you can underline and such in pdf, but reference manuals, well, I just love to have them in my hands, jump to sections, etc. As of now, it still is different using a digital manual no matter if you have bookmarks, underlining, etc.

I think this is less about other ways to view it and more about, "Hey, this machine is the most expensive VLF on the market and it isn't close. Include a color manual please." Really, is that too strong? I don't think so.
If we are conscious of paper then print it on recycled paper, that would be great. Make sure the boxes are out of recycled material as well. Don't put the responsibility on the consumer imo.

As I alluded to before, when you are selling quality, you need to give the quality feel in the total presentation. This includes things like nice supporting videos, printed manuals, etc. Be environmentally conscious though, of course.

Wow, I didn't know my original question would get such a response!---It's even been brought back "by popular demand" with a page two!----I guess the answer lies anywhere from answer (1)--to--answer (3)---kinda like, sort of!-------I printed out a couple copies of the manual today and the wife took them down to a copy store & had a binder made up for them.---Had a thick transparent sheet put on the front & back covers also---looks pretty cool.------Problem solved--and I got me some "bedroom story" reading now to!!----I'm usually good for about 2 1/2 minutes of reading before the book falls in my face (asleep). ;) :)-------Thanks everyone for your responses.-------------Del
