Doesn't look like I'll get in any MD'ing today...

Woke up to the Blizzard of '06... Heavy snow, 30 to 50 mph winds... They say we'll get from 12" to 18"+ of snow with drifts 2' to 4'or more when it's over late this afternoon.

They cancelled church services this morning for safety sake... pretty nasty outside, even for me.

Mike, you could be makin' some real good money over here with your plow :)

Something tells me I should have taken the snowblower in for service in the fall. Sure hope it starts  I'll get some pics posted later (unfortunately, the camera is in the car)

Have a great Lord's Day!

Just think, you would be the only guy at the beach! I'm on my way with my plow truck! :)

We'll see how the weather holds up. From what I've seen on the road cams the roads look pretty good. Wind has blow much away. Doesn't look to me like we're going to get that much accumulation but then again this is a pretty big storm.

Hmmm... In the meantime, I think I'll pour me a big ol' cup of hot coffee and relax for a change. :)

Joe - Just listening to your cd - you should fly away down to sunny Tucson :) Stay inside, keep warm, Steve in so az

that if you guys get a noreaster, it cuts away the beach and reveals tons of goldies and oldies? Yes no?

...yep, the clouds are coming in from the northwest with winds gusting as high as 15mph and total accumulations of from 1-3"!! We could have some drifting too, as high as 1/4" or more!! Schools will probably close for the week and there isn't a gallon of milk or a loaf of bread to be seen at the store. :surrender:

I pray you don't lose power and you guys keep warm. Do you have a back-up heating system?

The kids got to have a little fun in the snow today. Brian had his cast removed Friday and is using his walker until he got the confidence to put weight on his leg. A snowball fight was just the ticket because he had so much fun he forgot about his leg and took off walking!

God bless!

After a good nor'easter, there's lots of errosion; "cuts" in the sand. That gets down to a good level to reveal lots of oldies, including old coins and jewelry. Unfortunately, we got over 2' of snow... looks like we might even break the record in Central Park of 26.5" set in something like 1959. Anyway, by the time I got everything cleared out (praise God my snowblower started :) ) I missed the low tide. Probably not a wise idea to drive to the beach anyway. Oh well... At least we got this one on a Sunday. Nothing worse than having to go to work while all this is going on.

It's nice to be in a warm house out of the blowing snow, that's for sure! I'm going to relax and have a nice hot bowl of soup followed by a (much deserved) nap

3 inches ???? That's nothing   We just got 2 FEET!!! The wind direction (40-50 mph) was kind to me. I saw some houses where snow drifts were 3/4 up their front door. People (myself included) were out driving (no problem) and everything will be back to just about normal tomorrow :) Plenty of food in the stores; I went last night to pick up a couple of things. I think we handle snow just a little differently up north

I don't have a backup generator... really haven't any need for one since the power is pretty reliable. No outages around here though thank goodness
