Does your Ace 250/150/350 pinch your nerve?

Is it just me?
Just askin'.
Whenever I go md-ing out in the fields for a long time, I end up with a very sore left ankle. Just under the ankle bone on the left side, like tendinitis or a pinched nerve. It then hurts even more during the night time. I smothered the usual gel ointment, which does help a bit. After a few days of walking crooked, because of the pain, the rest of my foot starts to hurt also. Only after about 5-6 days, the pain goes away. I do have flat feet, I have none of these problems elsewise, not even when rollerblading. This never happened with my old Chinese md which has a different handle. It's happened at least 4 times during the last few months.
Question is:
Is the problem caused directly by the way I'm swaying my Ace and/or the way the Ace's arm and hand handle is made?
I'll add that when I used the Chinese md, I switched arms every once and a while, and I only use my left arm with the Ace.
Does/did anyone else ever get this (tennis-elbow) metal detector-ankle???

First off, good shoes are a must. I was ready to have my ankle checked by a surgeon when I spent the big bucks for a good pair of shoes and the problem went away. Then you can try adjusting the stem length of your detector and see if that helps in the way you walk. I know my hips hurt after detecting when I haven't done if for a while.

I use Euro Ace (350) and switch my hands from time to time - the handle is right in the middle and has no right nor left hand bias.
In any case; if your ankle hurts as a result of MDing, you must be doing something wrong. Remember, MD is not a golf club ;)

Sounds like GOUT to me. I have GOUT and it's no fun. I do manage it with cherry juice (REAL cherry juice, NOT cherry flavored drink) and some dietary changes. I love seeafood but seafood and fish are the worst things you can eat if you have GOUT.

I am just guessing that something else is at work here. If it was your elbow that was sore I could see it being the detector design. Not sure how the design would have a negative affect on one of your ankles????

I just read about gout. I have suffered from kidney failure and small stones before. Could be that my swaying is wearing away at my ankle joints and causing the inflammation. I guess I'll have to take it easy and at least start switching arms now and then.
