I saw this at fleeeebay looks like i can make a 1,000 of these from all the left over ac adapters i have from over the years. Eureka!!! does it work well?

What this amounts to is a battery charger for your phone or other device. I made one years ago to try out. Does work for the most part. You can make one yourself for about nothing. All you need is a charger which we all have one laying around that is not in use anymore and 2 Gator clips. Then steal one of your wife's stainless steel spoons and you got it.

i made one a few years back.... it worked good, but you must not leave it unattended as these things can get hot or the article you are cleaning can start dissolving good metal if left in too long...... it is important to use one that puts out an acceptable level of mili amps..... if bubbles are rising off of the item being cleaned then its working.... i would recommend more research prior to making one... good luck..

You gave me a great idea for refining now. Just dissolve the dirty bench sweeps (i am a jeweler) then reconstitute the batch into gold flakes

Thank you

Bench sweeps are sawdust of gold

I made one using a cell phone charger. Two alligator clips and a steel nail. A little water with a little salt. Do not leave for any length of time. About one minute is usually about right. You should get bubbles off the coin being cleaned. After about a minute, unplug the charger, remove the coin and finish the cleaning with baking soda. I only use mine for cleaning Silver items. I tumble my clad and lincolns.

Tumbling from a numismatic point of view sounds horrific. Any destructive method is not really preserving the coin. Maybe h2O2 aka h. Peroxide might be better.
