Does the Nox have a problem with the gold nuggets?

I intend to buy the Equinox 800 mainly because I hope to be able to go hunting for small nuggets in crevices and also to do general detecting for coins and beach hunting. Since its release there are almost no reports on its performance with the gold nuggets! Is there a problem that everybody keeps quiet about?

Havent seen any posts from folks who are hunting gold nuggets. But if the machine has a problem with nuggets you would have post after post blasting the machine for not working.

There are some videos on you tube that show the 800 doing just fine on nuggets.....I have used mine lookin for old, so far no old but that is my luck, but lots of little tiny bird shot and small chunks of copper and lead from bullets...
So answer would be..In my opinion NO , NO PROBLEM hunting nuggets

We air tested it with some raw nuggets back in June and the prospector/owner of the nuggets was impressed. The field modes were the ones I tried, as always try some testing in your conditions 1st to see what works best.

Thanks for the replies guys!
Dean, can you give me a link to the Seve's site, please?
I will be using the nox on very mineralized soils. I wander how it compares to the Goldmonster 1000 and the GB2 in it's ability to ground balance on heavy soils?

I sent you a PM. The Nox' ability to GB in highly mineralized soil is as good as the Monster and better than the GB2.

One video is enough to show you that the EQ has no problem with nuggets or pickers, or sub-pickers in mineralized ground. The rest is up to you and your knowledge of geology and where gold is likely to be, your patience and stick-to-it -ivness. My EQ has a terrible problem finding natural gold simply because where I hunt there is no gold.

There aren’t that many people making nuggetshooting videos. Most people that hunt the goldfields seriously would have already bought the comparably priced Monster before the Eqx came out, or they just opt for PI. I had intended to buy the Monster for my daughter because I already have an SDC, so when the Eqx was announced it really never crossed my mind to even worry about nuggets with it. However, after watching Bill Southern’s videos, and lurking forums and talking to my buddies in the Prescott area, I would have zero qualms taking my Equinox. I still don’t plan to though-the SDC is too simple, powerful and crazy portable to put down! I decided specialization resulted in less frustration when it comes to detectors. Less money in savings too, lol, but tons more success in the field! All that said-if your budget means one machine that does it all-the Equinox really seems to live up to the hype!
