Does the Lobo ST have VCO in Disc mode?

Mike Hillis

Well-known member
I was reading the manual and the field test on the Tesoro site but it didn't tell me if the Disc mode audio was VCO or not.

Anybody know if the Lobo ST Discrmination mode audio is VCO?

Thanks
Mike

HA!

I was told not to long ago that the Lobo has more of a modulated audio than my bandido and if I liked the audio of the bandidio I should give it a try. I know mine is more than just a chirp but I guess some would call it that..

Edit: Sounds like VCO to me. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YpgGhWdTeoA He switches to disc shortly after he tries all metal.

Hope this helps.

Well, it doesn't have a threshold in disc mode if that's what you mean. The audio response in the discriminate mode is much like the response of a threshold based all-metal mode... Just without a threshold.
I think it is a bit of a mixed mode. I've never used a detector with a vco based discriminate mode that I'm aware of.
As far as I know tesoro never made a vco based discriminate mode, but if they did, the lobo would be the one.
The audio in disc mode is different from any other tesoro and one of the most pleasing to listen to listen to IMHO.

Thank you, Mike,
That answered my question. Yes, it has VCO in Disc mode.

Looks like I'm buying another detector if I can find the coil.

I was told the same thing. The Lobo is suppose to be a great coin shooter.

Thanks Keith,

I think I'll give one a try.
