Does the Excal do well coinshooting in turf?

I'm so impressed with it's beach performance that I can't imagine it not doing well at retrieving silver coins from deep under the turf. Pinpointing issues aside....any Excal user experiences on terra firma?

Sure the Excal can be used to hunt grass too and pinpoints well with a couple tricks. When a target is found in grass or other than sand, just slowly move the coil back an forth while pulling the coil back toward you. When the signal stops, slowly slide the coil forward and when you hear the sound again, the target is just off the tip of the coil.

Most don't use the Excal for land hunting unless they hipmount it to save weight on the arm.

Thanks for the experience sandman. I regularly use the hipmount, so I think I'll give it a spin in the grass. - ziphius

I used the Excaliber in land and it does very well. I live in the red clay soil of North Carolina. The Excaliber is just Great on Smaller Target( Half Dimes and Bus Tokens. Juist go slow in the old sites that you think are worked out,

I appreciate the input and will be sure to go slow. Makes sense that the Excal would excel no matter where I try it. - ziphius
