Does the CTX go any deeper than the Explorer XS?

The concept of depth is entirely subjective based on a ton of variables. Although I have no actual proof IMO all things being equeal I would say yes it is. I also think you would get greater separation at depth, more stable target Id's at depth and greater depth in soil that is moderate to heavily mineralized. This is all based on what I've read throughout various forums.

What is the average depth of a dime with the 3030, compared to other detectors with the same size coil???

So far my deepest dime was 8 inches and it was loud and clear.

I agree depth is great but traget seperation will set this apart. I would about bet my paycheck it will be equal or deeper then any other FBS machine. Reading the feild tests and the finds already it can see targets even in heavy iron or totally masked by iron. Allow us to get what we and others have missed. That is what will be the best part of the CTX IMO. I cannot wait to hit sites I know will put it to the test.

Surely someone has done side-by-side tests on deep targets. Maybe everyone is too busy checking out the new toy. The comparisons will come in soon, I would think. It has been posted that the CTX goes 10% deeper than the, Etrac; I think it was the Etrac. It would be nice to have someone with Explorer experience test a very deep coin signal on the CTX.

Variables make up our universe

Do you hunt with an open screen ....

Do you know which channel gives you absolute best depth consistently even running on the edge and beyond

Do you know when your gain Sensitivity is tweaked just perfect ...no fold back on the coil for the ground you are in Manual manual manual...

Do you have your ears ON.....Good ear day...

Do you match the coil for the target staging area.....

My Etrac is DEEP......

But I truly believe this CTX 3030 is deeper......just from what I saw out of the box last night and got home at midnight...Simple punch and go riving the engine....and listening to her fire on 12 cylinders ...

I aint much of a meter guy ....I know my way around on em ....but when I make it... tell me... what I want to hear.... its all over...

just my observations and opinion...

Happy Trails
