Well, our club hunted a new place Sat or at least it was a new place for my buddy Lee and I. I was going to take my SE, but ended up leaving it home and my "ole" XS didn't let me down. There really wasn't a lot of grassy area to hunt and the biggest part of it was fill dirt which was really sandy and about the only stuff I was finding was clad. Decided that it would be best to detect the grassy slope as I knew that it wasn't fill dirt there. Got a wheat right off the bat and then a merc and then out pops a war nickel. I was just going a slow pace and just listening for the faint signals as most of my finds were a good seven to eight inches deep. Got another wheat and and rosie and then we had our lunch break. Went back out after lunch and the wind came up and it was cold. My buddy Lee had a rosie and three or four wheaties in his pouch and I could tell he was getting a little ticked when I popped out another silver. Got one more merc and another rosie and some kind of a token. It's in pretty bad shape and has a knight on a horse on it and says Modern Health Crusade. After I found my last rosie I was almost afraid to tell Lee about it and just yelled at him and asked if I had to walk home and he just started mumbling to himself and I couldn't quite make out was he was saying, but I think it was some kind of There is some writing on the back of that token, but it's really in rougher shape then the front side and I can't make out what it says and the ground wasn't too kind on the wheaties either. My wheats were 1958 and two with no dates, a 43-S war nickle. mercs were 35 and 41 and my rosies were 49, 54 and 64. All in all it was a good hunt and turned out better then I had thought it would because I'm sure this place has been pounded to death like most other places we go to. I didn't have to walk home and I'm sure Lee will get even on one of our next hunts. Thanks for looking and GL & HH to everyone.
