Will the Se coils work on GT ??? If no 8 " coil..what is the smallest coil you can buy for GT..Thank you in advance !

No they are not interchangeable. Minelab makes an 8" coil for the GT, just go to their website and you will find it there. Happy Hunting!

Thank you Sir

There are several 8" coils for the Sovereign. You might want to ask which one people like best and for what reason....8" Coinsearch, old 8" BBS coil, new Tornado 8" (both of these coils are smaller than 8" ), Sunray 8", Detech 8" copncentric. Then there are the Detech and Sunray 5" coils. If you want max seperation get a 5", but the Minelab BBS or newer coils are smaller than 8" and some like them for seperation. Any Sovereign model can use a Sovereign (BBS) coil, but Etracs, Explorers, and Safari use FBS coils that can't be used.

If you were getting one would you puchase..Smaller 5", 8", or a larger coil for more depth potential ??.........

My deepest coins dug with a 8 inch coil was with the older 8 inch Coinsearch coil, many find it hard to believe and i did too when I was digging 12 inch deep coins in a old well worked park. Now the hard part is this is something to get this depth you have to know your Sovereign well and go slow with most signals just a tone change and you have to work the signal to try to get the tone to climb, most never made it to the correct tones or ID on the meter, but was trying to. Another great 8 inch coil I have used is the S8 of Sun Rays as it seems to work great in the heavy trash as it makes the signals smaller so you can see a good item close to trash better, plus great depth too once you know your Sovereign well. I like the 8 inches better then the 5 inch for the trash I get in.

appreciate it Sir....enjoy your precise posts too.

I'm no Guru...plenty of others here with more stick time on a Sovereign. They just don't post as much.

Elton, just got back in town and saw your post.I think the Coinsearch coil is great but my favorite for separation of targets and silk smooth is the little 7 inch Tornado 800 coil.I don't like any of the 5 inch coils made for the Sovereign.Best all around coil the 10 inch Tornado and one of the worst coils the BBS 1000.HH Ron
