Does Lady Liberty play soccer?

So after working graveyard shift last night I decided I would take a couple passes through the local soccer field after work, hoping to find me a little gold before going home to bed. Half way through the first pass after cleaning up some clad and a few pulltabs I Get this nice quarter tone that cuts out short and switches to a nickle tone. Check it at ninety degrees, same thing, dept gauge is reading 8" with the 17inch coil. My 17 inch is always reading about 2" more than target actually is, so I'm thinking okey I have a quarter and a nickle at 6". But what's weird about that is this wasn't even a park until the early eighties, and before that the old aerial photos show just pure farm field with no buildings near by. So I'm thinking my max coin depth should be four inches maybe 5. We'll at 5 inches I'm still digging and my TRX is sounding like I have a crushed can, usually it's indicating one side of the hole or the other but this time the the whole bottom of the hole was sounding off like crazy!

So at this point I'm not too worried about scratching a coin and started getting a little jabby with the digger. After another inch I started grabbing dirt out of the hole and kept seeing these big flashes of white. Now I'm thinking aluminum siding or another aluminum dinosaur token like the one that almost gave me a heart attack the week before. It was just too flat to be a can. I did see a bit of some kind of detail so I didn't go in with the digger to pop it lose. A little more detail and I'm seeing a standing Liberty, but that's impossible. How could a Standing Liberty be here? A little more dirt and I'm seeing a big Standing Liberty. Happy Dance in sued :wiggle: I think I may have actually added a little moon walking witch I can't normally do except on special occasion.

Been a little slow for me lately with the dry ground and lack of new sites to detect so this really helps. She is my first Standing Liberty anything. I think that's silver #34 this year. Hoping to break the 50 mark.

I'm adding a photo of some of the tokens I have found this year that keep teasing me. Finally the real deal!

Great job Coon. Fields were a farmers home away from home where they would spend a tremendous amount of their lives. So just because it used to be a farm field doesn't mean you're not going to end up with something older than expected compared to the park.

That's for sure GK.

Your post always keep me inspired when doing the newer parks that were recently just farm fields. It's funny because when I target these fields for farmer drops I don't find much. But today I go out for the low tones and this pops up.

Saw your last post congratulations on that real it's awesomeand I always love those old coppers you guys dig.

Is that really you Dan. The original Deep Digger Dan? I'm a huge fan. I wish I had some real special spots for you to come detect and film. I haven't found any grenades yet around here.
