Does Garrett make a DD coil for the GTP-1350?

I just got my wife a ACE-250 for her birthday. She likes it, and I like it as well. She has been using my Tesoro, but she wanted something that would give her a visual id. Now we just need some warmer weather so she can get out with me and actually use it on the ground.

I had looked at the GTP-1350 in the past. Had thought about trying one, but never got around to it. I'm a big fan of DD coils. Does Garrett offer a DD for the GTP-1350?

Thanks,

Mike

Looks like I may do some selling and trading next year and try one out.

Thanks,

Mike

OK, Mike: I caught ya over here now threatening to do some trading and selling again. I'm gonna tell everyone I know, yes I am. Naw, I'll let you tell 'em.

Anyway, I'm over here trying to decide between a GTP 1350 and a BH Time Ranger. I'm open to all opinions.

Been lurking and reading for a few days; this is a great and informative Forum!

So, if you like digging coins, you can just dig the "A" size targets and leave the bigger stuff in the ground. On the long run, this saves a lot of time and your coin to junk ratio really improves. Use the BH as a backup machine, or get a small coil for it and if you like relic hunting in the woods or old buildings, take them both.

Thanks for the input already, John and Willy. I already have a Titan2000XD (by BH) w/4" & 8" coils, so I do have a backup for whichever new detector I buy.

Question: The GTP-1350 has automatic ground balance and a salt elimination mode. Most of my detecting will be here in Iowa so that is not much of an issue. But, in our retirement travels we will visit coastal and mountain areas. Is there anyone with personal experience of operating the 1350 in salt/sand and in mineralized soils? If so, I'd love to hear from you.

Thanks. Dick from IA

I don't do much salt sand hunting but Oregon is all volcanic soil and some of the most mineralized there is and the 1350 handles it all quite well.

Thanks for the report, Bill. I was pretty sure it would handle salt/sand quite well as many have reported the 1350 & 250 do well. Now I am glad to have a positve report in respect to mineralized soils.

Garrett keeps going up on my preference list; now which one do I want?
