Does At Pro internal speaker work under water?

Maybe this has been answered but I could not find it.
If you unhook the head phones and replace the protective cap on the detector(is it waterproof). If not, lets say
it can be made to be waterproof. Does the internal speaker sound off underwater(sound travels thru water)
Therefore you would assume you could dive to 10 ft and hear the sound of the detector without the water-
proof headphones.

Yes the speaker is water proof up to 10 feet . Though once the detectors box is under water completely the internal speaker probably wouldn't sound off very well. I personally hate hunting with headphones but at the beach they may be needed because of the noise with waves etc. at lakes it should be pretty quite .

You really need the water proof headphones for underwater use because the external speaker is way too muffled underwater making it useless. You will miss faint signals and its pretty impossible to watch the digital interface for targets too because you are really concentrating on keeping the coil on the bottom and movement of swing constant. I'm hitting coins deep with NO ID on the screen but I'm still getting perfect sound from the headphones, as soon as I move an inch or so of sand away I get a target ID number pop up on the screen and then the work begins to find the target. Digging sinking sand underwater is a pain but the rewards can be worth the effort for sure! I have had this happen to me a few times and still can't believe how deep in the sand coins can be found underwater. Hope this helps.
Cheers!
