Does anyone use or have used a 1236-X2

I ordered the new F4 but got the message from my dealer about it maybe having a defective part so instead of waiting for a F4 to be released with the corrected part I changed my order to a 1236-X2.

I would of liked the id that the F4 has, but I am used to Tesoro's non id units and I do like the simple turn dials to adjust. I only had $300 to spend, I could of got a Cibola but had one and wanted to try something different. I also tried a Xterra 30 & it didn't work out at all for me. I could of bought a Ace 250 for less than the 1236-X2 but I am thinking that the 1236-X2 is a better machine???

The only things that worries me is that the 1236-X2 might be alittle heavy & I always heard that Fisher's love iron.

So any of you that uses or have used a 1236-X2 before let me know what you think of them. Thanks alot! Steve (upstate New York).

The 1236-x2 is not heavy at all; maybe a little heavier
than some of the Tesoro's that you have used, but not much..
It will do well in iron plus you have the choice to use the
silencer in the worst conditions.... I read you post about
the X-Terra 30; it seemed like maybe you needed a machine
with manual GB... Hopefully the 1236-x2 will work for you...

Good luck, Jeff

Thanks for the reply Jeff, I have had several detectors over the years with factory set ground balance & they all worked great except the Xterra 30. Steve.

Hey SkiWhiz, yes the 1236-x2 is a very good machine for the money.
They are very lite and easy to use. For a $300.00 machine it sure
can detect deep too. In my opinion,it dose well around iron. It ignores
nails and small iron bits pretty good. larger iron signals sound off
one way when coil passes over it not two like good targets. Most of the
time the signal breaks up when over iron. One thing I say is that the
fisher is built better than a tesoro. Now, when it comes to a ID or digital machine buy only top-of-the-line if you can spend the $$$!
