This person coats his coil every year and has great success in protecting it. I can't remember where I read that thread It was quite some time ago. Could you post the link if you remember it? Thanks in advance to all

I remember the post but do not know how to find it. If I remember he was using 5 minute epoxy, mixing up a small bit at a time and applying is with a popicle stick or other small piece of wood. Sounds like a great idea. He also recommended using it on the tip of the X-1 probe.

here u go
used two coats of two part epoxy (gray) loctite brand i think it was, i have it at home, will let u know
B U T TWO WEEKS AGO OR SO, SOMEONE POSTED ABOUT USING SPRAY ON BED LINER..............SOUNDS LIKE IT WORKS GREAT AS WELL
MAX

I have never seen that before but it looks great. I use a coil cover and RTV to seal the cover to the coil but have never coated the coil cover.
It that for shallow water hunting? I seem to recall something about sealing the coil for that purpose in some way.
The spray on bed liner sounds like a great idea!

soon i will have my explorer II waterproofed and chest mounted............that will be the ticket.
i have used it since june in and around the surf and i love it.................b u t i dropped it in the surf and had to sent back to sam for some T L C.
this mod. will cure that from happening.
see ya and thanks for your help

...the bed liner looks like a good idea too. I may look for the stuff that you posted. I do plan on being at the beach and in the wet sand. I want to cover the coil but I hear so many things about coil covers, dirt and moisture that I think sealing the coil may be less problematic.
