Does anyone no the difference between the 6000 Pro XL and the newer XL Pro ?

Different sticker on sides !!!! May have been refined a little in the electronics( Do not know that for certain) someone said they did.

to me the only difference is the decals. My newer manual even states it as the 6000 pro xl. For some reason my xl pro likes the 9.5 coil while my 6000 pro xl favors the 5.3 bullseye coil. Both said units will nail the 8" silver dime in my test garden with the sensitivity only slightly beyond preset. The meter ID is slightly more accurate on the xl pro with the 9.5 coil on that target though. With the 6000 and 5.3 coil it gives good audio but the needle pegs all the way to the right and locks. From what i've heard...that's a normal reaction on a deepie and a telltale sign to dig. PS....your coil is on the way as of this afternoons mail.

then it is possible that it is due to the coin's depth compared with any local ground conditions and perhaps some unknown masking factor. Or that the 6

the 5.3 will give good audio response over the 8" dime...but the needle pegs to the right on both the 6000 pro xl and the xl pro. That little 5.3 coil nails and properly ID's the 6" dime...but the needle pegs to the right over the 8" dime.. although again it does give a good audio response telling the user to investigate. The 800 Royal scan coil hits it too and identifies it correctly too so it must be just slightly out of the 5.3's reach to properly identify.

Bryce-IL,

I just dusted off my XL-Pro as I've been doing water hunting lately. I managed to snag it NOS in the box (still has about a year on the warranty) and paid top $$$ for it. I did use it a little several months ago and man it's a deep seeker! I'll be asking questions again until I master it (LOL)! I do have the 5.3 but what's the advantage with the 800 Royal scan as I was possibly looking into getting one of those too???:whites::garrett::usaflag:

Thanks

same detector!..whitey just decided to shorten the name for marketing reasons..same situation with the 5.3 "bullseye" and the 5.3 "blackmax" coils.same coil, with
different decals.

(h.h!)
j.t.

the 950 coil and still gets better separation. The 5.3 coil gets good depth and great separation..but the depth isn't quite what the 800 or 950 coil..at least for me.
