The $10.00 gaming tokens from the various casino with the gold tone ring on them, are these all silver????. I was told that the only part that is silver is the silver inner part.
I thought that the whole thing was silver with the outer ring being plated. I never broke one apart to see.
anybody know for sure???
thanks

Does the silver part look like an insert ?

You could always call them, they are still in business and ask them.

In fact call security, they are the experts in identifying all the tokens, because they have to know how to spot conterfeits.

Allen I have a few of these silver rounds they are 1 ounce rounds..I've had mine since they first came out...The last time I checked on the Internet They were worth 30.00 dollars apiece because they were limited editions...Mine has the dates on them and stamped limited editions...When you won them in the slots they were incased in a plastic cover they were proofs....

I finally took one apart as they are a 2 part token with only the center part being silver and the outer part being a brass alloy. I checked a bunch of others and they all seemed to be around 37.6 to 37.9 grams of which the center part is 6 tenths of an ounce of silver or at yesterday silver price about $8.00 worth of silver. The silver insert I have weighs 18.7 grams.
On average as a collectable they are worth about $15.00--$20.00 depending. I checked with some dealers and collectors, unless the silver insert states 1 oz .999 silver or something different, there is only on average .6 of an oz of silver in them. So I guess I have now answered my own question.
