If ALL the newer colis for Garrett are made with that new epoxy?

I tell ya that new 11x8.5" DD coil for my GTI 2500 is very lite...twice as lite as the stock 9.5 coil.

I was thinking about getting a new 9.5" imaging coil for my 2500 if they have that new epoxy.

Thought I would ask here first before calling Garrett....I call them too much as it is...ha

Garrett found a new supplier for their epoxy which is in fact better all around and also lighter. FYI the electronics housing also uses a special ABS plastic formulation specially engineered for high impact strength and durability. Some of the metal detectors currently on the market are made of cheap, easily breakable plastic. They remind me of the same plastic coffee cup lids are made of. :(

Well thank ou Mr. Ivan! :garrett:

I think the imaging coil for the 2500 is heaver because of the extra wiring so imaging works.I just looked at my stock coil for the 2500 and it looks to me to be solid construction. Then again maybe not. I was under the impression that any epoxy on the stock coil was for protection. I plan on using my 1500 with stock coil as is and my 2500 with the new DD coil. I am also staying off the new AT pro forum to avoid temptation. I really don't need a new metal detector.:stars:

come on...just 1 more detector never hurt anyone...your wife won't mind really....your 2500 and 1500 would really like to have a little brother...there sooo lonely...think how nice it will look sitting next to the others....you know you really want one...what's a few more bucks...was that enough temptation?:heh:
