hello again all, i also found this small thin brass piece at the 1850's homesite. looks like a small piece of iron strip riveted on the inside. i've got like 6 of these, but don't have a clue as to what they are or do. some of the other pieces have fabric attached to them. theyr'e about 1and a half in. long, and 3/4 in. wide. again, any help is appreciated! hh,

hello all, come to find out they're folding rule hinges! thanks to scott on the relic hunters forum. i have a similar piece, it's a bit different, with fabric attached to it, and flat, on the relic hunter's forum. thanks! and hh,

It's easy once you know what it is. Funny how that happens. It looks strange until you are told what it is, then it all makes sense. Good job Scott. That's what I like about these forums, someone always helps.:bouncy:
