They seem to be on back order every where. I checked a month ago and Kelly had 10 or 12 on order from Minelab and 24 on order from clients! Everywhere else I checked is on back order.

I have written Minelab USA asking about this (I did order one. It's on back order.) No reply as yet.

That is a good deal.......

Second owner, no warranty and gonna go for a grand or more depends on how desperate U R for an excal??

I paid for my Excal within a couple months of getting it..........With my finds and a year later its been paid for over 5 times

If it bids over a $1000.00 maybe not. But everytime i see one for sale on this forum people want $950.00 plus shipping so whats the difference.

One year warrenty is not much anyway

The difference is that if U buy from the forum U have a pretty good chance that the detector is as described-not so sure on e bay
Paying off a detector is not the point. All of my detectors have been paid off many times over but that isn't why I hunt. If I am going to spend a grand or better it will be on a new unit as in most cases if it is going to break or is defective U will know it in the first year & can get it taken care of with no hassle. Don't get me wrong. I have bought excals on e bay and got good units but I always found one where I could go and pick it up and check it out before I paid. They also were in the $6-700 range. I paid $1000.00 shipped for my excal 2 new with a 3 year extended warranty but that was before they became extinct. IMHO I would wait and buy one from someone on the forum .02

Try Detector Depot. They are in Knoxville TN. away from the beach and will do what they say. Go to their website at the top of the main page of forum. They may have a used one if that is what you are looking for. Hope this helps. HH:minelab:

CHUCKY...THERE WAS NOTHING WRONG WITH MY XCAL 1000 IT WORKS GREAT BUT I WANTED XCAL 2 ......AND I'M STILL HAVING TROUBLE SELLING MY XCAL 1000 ON THIS FORUM ...AND I KNOW THE XCALS USUALLY GO FAST

im bidding on the excalibur 2 on ebay. its a nice machine. im hi bidder at $989.00. and im going to $1000. but if you want it i wont bid any higher.i have one on order, when ever they come in,ive been waitting a month for two machines. so if you want it you can have it. if not ill be happy to take it. it has alot of extras and minelab only gives you a one year warrenty. big deal. but ya it has two batterys bal rod with screws instead of thoses buttons. just letting you know. eather way.you might not be the one bidding. frank
