Does anyone know of a brand of rechargable batteries that preforms good with CZ's

Although 9 volt rechargeables just don't hold up like other sizes get ones with a high MAH rating and use as slow charger to charge them is my best advice.

Pehaps a forum member can add some input what works as far a brand goes...but never had much luck with rechargeable 9 volts....

I've tried a couple different 9V rechargeables for my CZ. First were the Tenergy brand. They work OK, but quality control seems to be low as I've had several batteries fail. A pair of Tenergies with a full charge will last about one day of hunting.

Next I tried some Lion rechargeables , and although the specs were better then the Tenergy brand NiMH 9V's, they were a mixed bag. Typically after about 4 hours of hunting they would die (and I mean die, the batter meter would go from 100% charge, to dead, no warning whatsoever).

One issue with both of the above rechargeables is that their not really 9V batteries, IIRC their 8.4V or something on that order.

I see there are now some 9.6V rechargeable 9V form factor batteries out now, but I don't know if I want to invest $50 for a pair + special charger to try them out. I can buy two boxes of Energizer 9V's for less then that (24 batteries).

HH,
Brian

I use to use a 9 volt battery that I think was called Maha. I used them in cz3d. My memory is that they lasted about 8 to 10 hours. I bought them from a place called Thomas Distributing. Google that and see what happens. R.L.

I appreciate all the help/advice ...my buying namebrands every week is beginning to add up thanks joseph

I have tested some cheap 9 volts for my CZ5, the best one i found was a nic- cad made by SONY it ran for about 16.5 hrs before i lost power. You might think that is not very long BUT they were 5 TIMES cheaper than a Duracell or Energizer so 16.5 x 5 = 82 hrs for the same price not bad. I have just purchased some 300 ma rechargeables so hope they have a good run before a charge again, will keep you informed about these. HH Pedro

Pedro60:

Could you give a bit more info on the Sony 9v. batteries? You mentioned they were Nic-cad. Does that mean they were rechargables? I'm only finding NIc-cad's in that format, not throw aways.

Thanks...

I use the CZ-21 and I am underwater soo much that I won't use rechargable. I find enough coins and silver and gold to justify 10.00 for 4 Duracell's for 50 hours. I have to have a VERY dependable machine and know it will last as long as I stay under.

If your only talking about land machines forgive my input!

The 9 volt Ni-cad were only throw away types, i tried many of the cheap makes but these performed the best for the price range. Still testing my new 300 ma rechargeables so will give feed back soon on these. I would like to try the 600 ma rechargeables but the price is putting me off at present. HH pedro60

I use Imedion 9.6 volt rechargeables in my G-2. They last a real long time! Use a Powerex C490 charger. Check out Thomas Distributing. Really nice people to work with for batteries.
