Does anyone know if the new Fisher F-75 is a completely 100% new design..............

or did First Texas "improve" on the T-2 design, change the frequency and made some enhancements, and calling it a new design in a black colored T-2 housing?

Also, does anyone know when a smaller coil will truly be available?

I would think that these are realistic questions to ask in light of the fact that First Texas wants us to pay approximately $1,000.00 for this new metal detector. Kelley (Texas) :)

I am interested in knowing if this is a 100% new design, a design made from scratch or is it a take off from the T-2 design. Kelley (Texas) :)

It appears that the display is different, but that does not mean the underlying main circuitry is substantially changed. I've not seen any mention of it being DSP based so will assume it is a general purpose MicroP that does most of the work.

If there is a new display then at least the software to drive that would have to be new. Additional features would also mean new software.

But what always interests hobbyists the most are if there are hardware/software changes that effect depth, target ID at depth, iron rejection etc., and only the field testers know for sure.

One of the more interesting aspects of this product roll out is that I've yet to see one person admit that they are a field tester and give some performance details. One of the more recent posts I have seen on another forum site makes note of the fact that a rather well known field tester is no longer welcomed on this website. True or not I don't know, because people can post anything. But I would suspect that that person might have been a field tester, if there are any.

There have been no field testers as of yet, because the unit had not been made as of last week. So anyone claiming to be a field tester short of Dave Johnson, and a couple of factory engineers is just spreading BS. :)
