Hello, I'm new to the metal detectors and I picked up a 7000 series, Wanted to know aif anyone has the manual or can point me to where I can find out more how to use this model properly. Thanks a ton!:starwars:

There is difference between 'saying' and 'doing'. Instead of directing you to another source...I will help you directly.

The 7000 you have is similar to the 7700. Do you have ATI? Audio Tonal Identification. In other words...does a copper penny sound off on a higher octave over a nickel? Quarter higher than a copper penny? If so you have the ATI feature. Here is a link to a website that has the owners manual for a 7700. Basically the same unit.

You have a very capable metal detector that will be fun to use. A bit dated and heavy, but will still find the coins/jewelry that most other units would find. My advice would be to set the discrimination low(foil) and learn to listen to the tones to determine targets. Listen for the good sounding targets with the same octave. If the octaves sound erratic or shift...the high probability of a trash target. Good luck and let us know how you do with it.

The "Oregon Teks" were never manufactured by First Texas nor were we ever equipped to service them. For all intents and purposes we don't know anything about them.

A few of the old timers on the forum here know a bit about them. Keith Wills might have the ability to service them.

I thought you where just trying to point him in the right direction!
Getting tough on here!

Really! I thought it was a good suggestion, myself. Maybe Bart should have made the call, too. Come on, summer is just starting. HH jim tn
