:Garrett: I have the Garrett GTI 1500 and I love it, what a accurate machine as far as finding coins, and the exact depth and target, however, what ever mode I select I always find coins. I found a few silver rings, but I determine to find gold jewelry, I don't have gold jewelry because I don't wear it, and can't bench test it, to determine the sound. the question is does anyone have this unit, and should I changed the search coil to find gold targets, and increase the depth, and what coil should I consider?

There are no special coils to find gold. Gold items are scarce and you find them by pure luck or by huntinmg areas where the loss of gold items is more likely to happen, such as swimming areas, the beach or any beach, sports fields, playgrounds, etc.

Gold items, depending on compostion, read all over the scale. The more gold content the closer to foil they will read. Tha old adage is; If you ain't digging any junk you ain't digging much gold.

It is scarce, and can read just about anywhere on the screen, due to its size and/or conductivity. You have to put in lots of time (law of averages) and search areas where it could be lost. Old picnic sites are good and so are beaches. Just keep hunting and digging! :)
