I call it "delusional sight finds" and it's becoming more acute. What happens is no matter where I'm walking I'm always scanning the ground and quite often spot a "good find" on the surface only to pick it up and find out it's not whatever I thought it was. Spotted a nice gold hoop earring yesterday and picked it up to show my 16 yr old son. All he could do was shake his head and mumble " it isn't anything ". It wasn't, but to my credit it sure LOOKED like gold jewelry. Just wondering if this is common or if I need to seek professional help.
