Does anyone do research before they hunt a beach??? What do you look for.

1) No

2) Gold

3)

Where it applies, in the summer, research is pretty much confined to:

1. Where most of the folks gather, though sometimes the less visited areas can produce too, and there's less competition from other hunters.
2. Current (which way the goodies may drift or drop.)
3. Watching out for cuts, pockets or areas lower than the rest of the beach.
4. When is low tide, especially at full moon. Lots of beach to cover then.
In the Winter, you need to pay attention to the winds too because on the east coast, the NorEasters can stir up the bottom or blow sand off the beach, especially if it's been blowing steady for a few days.

Good hunting.
