Does anyone do Metal work?

DOC

New member
I need to have a special tool made that I use to make my bungee cords.

I have made the tool out of wood, but the little notches I grind into it with a dremel to hold the hooks that I crimp the bungee cord into, keep wearing out.

I need a couple of them made out of metal.

I you know how to tool metal please let me know and I'll fill you in on the details, and you can shoot me a price.

Thanks!

steel or aluminium? Send me a pic and/or drawings to:

I'll see if it's something I can make up.

I think aluminum would work fine, I will take pictures Dave, but you will probably also have to have some of the plastic hooks and some bungee to make sure you get the angle of attack right.

This is a secret tool I invented that is not made commercially so I need for you to keep the design secret as I may want to go into production on these.

When I bought these snaps I couldn't get them on. I asked the manufacturer what the secret was to getting them on, I was sure they must have some kind of a tool. They said, there is no secret, it's harder than hell. One of the guys here says he uses a vise and a rubber mallet to pound the collar on.

Well it used to take me about 5 minutes to get these things on. With this tool it takes about 5 seconds.

Thanks Dave!
