Went out today at one of our Rev War sites and unearthed this thing. It's quite heavy duty. Any Ideas???

It looks sorta like a pice of a wagon where the wheel would fit up in it. Perchance it is called a wagon axle holder upper together thing. I do think it came off of a wagon. But I could be wrong...d2
