Does anybody know if Minelab has started shipping out their detectors?

On one of the other lists I am on someone said they are coming out within the week per their contact at Minelab. Of course I take everything with a grain of salt. I am awaiting on an Excal and if it comes sometime this month I will be happy. Hopefully someone else may have better information.

Hello Rick,

Sorry for the delay. I apologize.
We are going to receive a few shipments for the Excal in the next few weeks but not enogh to clear or ship everything that it's on order.

I was asking about a Sovereign GT and a Excalibur II a customer wanted, the GT they didnt know when any would be available at this time, so they must be some hot sellers.
I hope your dealer is one of the ones that will get one of the Excaliburs II that he has on back ordered as not all back orders will be filled with this first shipment the way it sounds.

i got my excal 2 4 days ago just look tru the dealers and u can find one too

Maybe I missed this but what is with the short stock with Minelab? I find it hard to believe that all these models are out of stock due to popularity.
Sounds like a supplier wasn't able to supply parts?

their moving their building. its been like this for months now. ive asked everyone and the machines should be coming in real soon. i was told the begining of this month, like the first to 2nd week. but who knows. minelab makes a great machine and their service dept is great. but the top dogs seem not to care about us small potatoes. they care about their goverment contracks.they could have given us some notice so we could have been prepaired.what company can take months off without sales?

I've had a Sov. GT ordered since about x-mas all I get is they may be here by june ??? Seems they moved their facility to the islands and have to re group !!!! Glad i'm not a dealer as would go bankrupt for lack of product, what a shame to do this to their dealers. Been detecting 40 yrs and was a multiline dealer for 20 yrs and NEVER experienced this kind of malfunction and disrespect to dealers in my life.

I don't want to start any rumors but my instincts tell me something else is up. Usually if a company is planning a move then the manufacturing facilities are the first to go so the product supply chain isn't interrupted. Everyday they aren't selling is another day they aren't generating profits.

Very odd too me.

back order from Dec 28th 09..talked to Ena many times and she thinks the Excal's will ship some time in April. i cant go into detail but she has gone the extra mile for me i must say. i had thoughts of canceling my order ,but then id go to the bottom of the list if i wanted to re order.she said Minelab will normally sell about 40 Excal's a month in the US in the winter, now orders are up to 140 a month plus the new move they made put them behind.im sure a lot of there production went to Gold detectors due to the Gold rush in China.to be honest if i didnt know that the Excal's and Sovereign's were the best detector on the planet, i would have quit them 5 years ago! thank goodness iv got my Sovereign to use till the Excal comes in.i sold the last 4 Excal's i had to try other detectors, wont do that again!

They have quadrupled their production in order to keep up with demand, but the shear volume of demand has sent them into meltdown. That's the info that was told to me via a detector dealership that shares the same parent company as Minelab.
The main problem seems to be a number of gold rushes around the globe. It sounds like they are busting their chops to met demand, but are just overwhelmed for now.
Mick Evans.

Maybe there comming out with the Excalibur Pro lol

a dealer in Indiana..NWI i get most all my stuff from him. its been on back order from Dec 09..Minelab told me i would get the 1st one shipped to the US in April so lets hope they are all on there way!

Ordered mine in Feb and still.....................waiting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i want to send my other Excalibur in for service, but not going to until the new one comes in.

Are minelabs "that good". I use a 1280 atm. Dont have the cash for a new machine...but by end of summer I probably will. I was even thinking of maxing out a CC to get one. No point in doing so now because they are so backorderd. Just curious about them though. A lotta people seem to use them. HH -Joe

I swear by my Excalibur. It's my primary machine and always will be until someone can make a better one. That's just my humble opinion!!!!!! Truly the best underwater detector there is bar none!!!!

Any updates on these detectors? Have they hit the market yet? Seems like Minelab would have tooled up for the spring and had plenty of stock on hand for the summer water season rush. Wonder what the deal is? I want one and have the money but just can't find one anywhere.
