Does anybody have a video on how to use a probe in grass.

Not an electronic probe, but like a scredriver, I would like to see how it is done.

I went to this link and the entire page is in French. I thought that I might be able to find a video, but never did.

TF, that is a good question and I have been wondering about probes myself. Currently I use either a pocket knife or a large screwdriver which I have ground smooth. Since I cannot find an icepick I think I will get a scratch awl and dull the point. I could still use some "pointers" on how to use a pointer!

Myself, I use them about like a skinny digger.
I'll pinpoint with the machine, and then stab
the X with the probe, and usually wallow it
forwards and backwards to cut a narrow notch,
and then I flip the sod up using the probe as a
lever.
It kind of erupts the soil up kind of like a mini
earthquake, and hopefully the target is within
the range of my pinpointer. It usually is..
I then just grab it or dig it out with the probe, and
then tamp the soil back down.
If I need to go left or right to find the target,
I'll wallow a notch left/right.
Now, others probably use them in different
methods, and there is no really "right" way
to do it, as long as you are finding the goody. :clapping:
Whatever works for you...
Some try to flip the coin up out of the notch,
but I usually am not able to do that. The gumbo
around here pretty much has a kung fu grip on
coins, etc. So you have to kind of dig em out.
I use my pinpointer to find the coin in the notch
almost 99% of the time. Pinpointer spoiled I am..
If mine breaks, I'll have to get another.. I oughta
buy me a backup..
