Dodging rain drops

Well-known member
I went out to do a little shopping and noticed that a gate was open:happy: at one of the schools I drive by.
Well they lock them up around here like State Correctional Facilities.:ranting: It's not often that one gets left open.:clapping:
So I jumped at the chance even though it was raining..
It looks like someone gets to hunt it, because there were no coins? not even a zincoln!
It only took 10 min. to buzz the tot lot and I was out of there... and wet I might add.
But it was well worth it..
only three targets...
And one is a nice 14K heart bracelet!!:super:
WooHoo may day was made... head for home..
Thanks for looking...

Great find. Looks like the person that hunted it didn't have his coil in the right spot. Good for you! HH, Nancy

Nice find with that bracelet. I know of 3 schools within 15 miles of the house that have been fenced in about as long as I can remember I'd love the chance to get into one of them and see whats there but as often as I check I just can't ever catch them leaving a gate open heck they've got chains and locks on all the gates..ahh well maybe I'll be lucky one of these days. Jimmie

I live so close to an elementary school that I could throw a baseball into the back portion of it but it stays locked up like Ft Knox. :ranting: Anyway, Nice find. Nice GOLD bracelet. Bet you glad that you seized the moment.... Lots of rain here today. Hope it clears for the weekend. CCH

Congratulations on that beautiful bracelet. I believe that tot lots are second only to beach hunting for gold.................

During Christmas break would be an ideal time to ask about hunting the playgrounds. 12 month employees would be there to let you in and out of the place and no kids. Throw in the idea of finding live rounds, needles, pins, etc. that have been found in school playgrounds and they just might want you to detect the play area for safety purposes. All they can do is say, "No". Give it a shot you guys. It's worth the effort. Good luck, Nancy

Nancy,
I do look for Maintenance employees throughout the year and have gained permission to locked playgrounds.
I don't know if the fences are there to keep us out or the rug rats in...
But if the gate is open and no one is around to ask, I feel that it is fair game. I usually take a walk around to see if I can find someone to ask.
If they will leave the gate open for the little Vandals, what hurt can I do and I'm pulling needles, knives, pipes (crack) and other assorted trash out of the lots.
Like you said "all they can do is say NO"
It was fun finding Gold I haven't found any in quite awhile, But I'll keep looking....
Thanks for your comments and good luck out there.

You are a man after my own heart. Lock and Load. I have two schools right down the street with another school being built. I can look over and see the tot park, but cannot get in. I know no one has hunted the lot to date. Always watching the gate. Marty

Keep an eye on those gates and keep looking for a maintaince worker mowing or cleaning up.
Most that I've found will give permission, but sometimes it's hard to get past the locked gate to ask.

Good luck out there.
