DO YOU THINK WHITES MADE A MISTAKE DROPPING THE XLT?

Ok people whats your opinion do you think Whites made a mistake dropping the Xlt from their line of detectors.Lets here your honest answer pros and cons.

Probably the same mistake they made when they dropped the XL PRO and the IDX PRO

Time and technology marches on..............mistakes or progress?

I think they would have had to re-desighn the circuit board if there is a chip in it that isn't available anymore. I also heard the xl pro was dropped because of a switch not being manufactured anymore. Sometimes even if you yourself doesn't want to change the world changes behind your back. All the circuit boards are going to use smaller components that eat up less battery power. IT really isn't good that they dropped the XLT I would have seen an updated version that can emulate the origional kind of what they do which muscle cars. I think there are economic forces that killed the XLT, Someday we will be reminicing about those good old MXTs and how great they were etc. I personally can't figure out how the DFX hung out for so long but that's just me.

n/t

only cause i just bought mine four months ago. i haven't even learned how it works all that well.

Plus, there are a wealth of happy owners on many blogs and forums to draw from.
The XLT is a very good detector and you will have many years of great use from it.

As I see it, their product line is all screwed up, at least as far as the E series goes. Too many models, DFX, XLT, MXT and Matrix 6, plus they have the "Pro" and "300" models to boot. Too confusing. Go look at the Garrett, Fisher and MineLab product lines. Rather clear cut I should think. I think somebody got carried away out there at Whites.

The XLT will be around for many years. It already has and will further develop its own following of loyalists. The technology may be dated, ala Tesoro, but it still is very effective and will be for years to come.

 Here is what just chaps my grass. When a detector company runs several different models at several different frequencies it is hard to collect a good supply of coils. FYI (so the newbies will know) ,,,a metal detector has to have a coil that will match the detector's frequency. Whites released the Prism series at 8 khz even before a small shooter coil was available. The coils you had for the XLT and Pro series didn't work on the DFX and MXT or M6 models so each time a new model comes out here we go again. It is more convenient and less confusing when all the models run at the same frequency so that a small or large coil can work on any of them. Just my 2 cents.:whites::wiggle:
