Do You Think That The Modern Cell Phone Usage Has Effected The Amount Of Coin and Jewelry Finds?

I never grew up with cell phones.....I partied like everyone else, camped, hunted, went to concerts, played baseball, fished, all without being attached to a cell phone. So many people spend sooooo much time talking/texting during their spare time these days.

Are cell phones a means to create larger gatherings for social events, or do people not go out as much in groups, as they are in constant contact with everyone? This would have a direct effect on the amount of fresh drops occuring.

I guess you could probable interchange the words social media (Facebook) to replace the word cellphone.

What do you think!

People in church, or sitting in a group at a restaurant table text each other (even sitting side by side.):poke:

I suspect the use of plastic vs real money will cause an ongoing decrease in the amount of coins that are being deposited for us to find.

Since young people always have a cell phone in their face the number of pieces of jewelry may decrease. One must be active to lose a piece of jewelry.

$$ Is now being spent on big ticket cell phones & expensive Tattoos. Charge cards and debit cards for school lunches are killing us. This past winter 5 of us hunting the Gulf came up with 6 gold rings. But we found 7 ruined cell phones. With an estimated over the counter value at somewhere over$4,000. Times are a changing.

Agree with this 100%. Most of the young people don''t like carrying change with them. Or CASH for that matter. And there seems to be a disdain for jewelry made of precious metals with the moving forward of tungsten and titanium and ever silicon (as in rubbery) rings. I suspect that we will have to get more creative where we look as we move forward.

and the rest of you are finding cells?
(You making calls to Mermaids? Put one on a rod/reel and throw it back.) :cheekkiss:

No on/off switch? (If you are in court it better be off---or it will cost you.):punch:
I actually got up at a restaurant and changed seats with a guy so he could sit by his wife----and they still texted, each other.
(I'm waiting for a manufacturer to produce a detector that the cell plugs into for calls (all you need is a headset with a mic--do NOT recommend this to Garrett as a feature.
Its bad enough I got to hear an argument in person........to be continued while detecting?) :argue:

6 Gold rings. That's pretty darn good these days...

That's 6 gold rings Between us for 3 months. And one guy got 3 of them.

Had to be luck, or perhaps old Neptune had something to do with it...
