Do you take the chance of leaving your V3 in a hot trunk to use after work?

I know I'm going to keep taking my v3 with me to work. I usually do. Will hit an area for an hr. or so before work then keep it in my trunk. I work afternoons. Today was terribly hot out and the v3 worked flawless. I got off work early and used it tonight to find some of the finds. So I would say I detected for about 2 hrs. The Copper spoon was 13 inches deep and my guess very old. All the Wheaties ranging from 1909 to 1953 were about 4 inches deep.. All this came out of a small yard that a friend had said I could hit. Other than the Three tokens. These came from an old torn down building site.
I don't think leaving your detector in the trunk of a car will hurt it much.

i do it all the time. Just keep it covered and protected... so I can hit places to/from work sometimes.

No I don't do it but I'm retired. I just load it when I go hunting. Things are all working well and I just don't want to push my luck by cooking it. That said Larry keeps his in his pickup and hasn't had any problems. Rob

I leave mine in my Pickup here in Hot Southern California , never had a Problem, I'M more concern it being stolen, than cooked.

I carry my V3, E-TRAC, and F75 LTD and others in my truck ALL the time. It is an extended cab. I've been doing it for over 10 years with multiple detectors with no problems. I may as well give up the hobby if I have to go home and get a machine everytime I want to hunt. As far as heat on a coil... there is no way a coil can get as hot in a vehicle as it can in direct sunlight on a beach or in a park... especially if it is black and absorbs heat. When I get in my truck things aren't hot to the touch. How much of a problem can it be?

I wouldn't worry about it for a minute.
