Do you sharpen your Lesche?

n/t

yes and i also put small notches on the other side and cut off the two ears so i can get it into the hole better but its still going and i use it alot, have to say Its the best digging tool I have used

I am a knife maker, so I have the equipment to sharpen my Lesche to a razors edge  It cuts through the soil & Roots as if it were butter ! If you know anyone who is a knife maker, have them put an edge on your Lesche and you'll see what a difference it makes !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sharpen the ole Lesche ever chance I get!

Yes, belt sander, grinder or a file. Just don't get the edge hot (discolored) with the beltsander or grinder. That will soften the temper and make it dull quicker.

I don't have a Lesche. I have the other digger that seems almost as popular with the black handle and curved digging end. I sharpen the end of it too on a grinder. I've used the Lesche and yes it's a bit easier to break through sod because of it's more pointed end, but one thing I don't like is I can't easily scoop dirt out of the hole with it. My other digger wil easily thanks to it's quarter "cup like" curve to it.

Craig, do you put a single or double Bevel on your Lesche,, if a single is it from the inside or the outside? I want o single bevel from the outside so the tool cuts in a circular pattern or naturally turns the tool as you cut (like a single blade broadhead) .

I sharpened my Lesche on the bench grinder at work on both the inside and outside edges. I've used it for a while now and it was very dull before sharpening. It made a huge difference, and with the concave shape of the blade, it cuts a nice circular plug with ease.

I sharpen both sides with a double bevel. Cuts an easy circular plug or flap
