Do you remember WW2? Pep cereal? Aircraft? These are cool! :)

I have been going through a lot of my inherited stuff and have found a bunch of WW2 related memerobilia. If you would like I will post some of it.

Pep cereal was a popular breakfast food in the 40's, and Kellog's got with the war theme by putting aircraft recognition models into the box as prizes.

This is the package that one of the balsa wood models came in in the early war years.

This package contained a real balsa model of a Russian fighter that you could cut out and assemble.

Later in the war when materials were getting scarse, they switched over to hard cardboard for the models.

I think it is neat that my Folks kept this kind of thing for me to find all these years later. If we would have had them as kids, they would have been long gone instead of pristine condition.

Hope you liked this time capsule. DC

Hello David,

I hope you are doing well.

Those classic items are great. Finds in the attic and basement are often more personally significant than those found in the ground.

We're still making new discoveries as we're going through my deceased parents' possessions.

Memories are only good once you've had them.

Respectfully,

The Nutty Teacher
