Do you know how deep goes? WHITES SURF PI PRO :huh::poke:

I suppose it depends on how far of the continental shelf you take it; it'l go pretty deep out there, maybe a couple of miles.:goodnight:

Oscar,
It will go as deep as you want to dig. And it will pick
up all metals, so you will get a work out. Good luck.

But...I think PI Detectors go much deep than a feet!!!!!!! My Explorer SE Multiband goes 14 inches deep..... almost the same . I'm looking to buy a PI Detector that goes meters deep. Does it exist???

Why in the world would you want to dig meters deep? Or are you talking about water depth? If you are asking for something that can detect metal that is meters deep, I would say you are not hunting in the surf. I imagine a PI DETECTOR like that would cost thousands of dollars. Come out of the surf and start surfing the web, what you're asking for goes beyond just hobby. These are usually dragged behind boats or ships in search of shipwrecks or other debris. Goodluck in your quest!! Ron

You could try the Deepers Machines. I think they have a combined VLF/PI unit.
Don't know anything about them but I hear you can get some monster coils for them. If they are any good (which I doubt) you should be able to detect a 40 gallon drum at 20 or 30 foot with the 1 metre coils. otherwise maybe you need to think about Ground Penetrating Radar and there is some realy good Seismic ground survey equipment that will go bewy bewy deeeeep.

I don't think any PI is going to hit a silver dime or gold ring at 2+ meters. Isn't that 6+ FEET?

If treasure is that deep and in the water, you got bigger problems trying to find what PI detector is the deepest. If you are looking for a hand held, waterproof PI that will find iron and bigger targets so that you can then isolate where the sunken treasure may be, look at the J.W. Fisher units.

If you are stating that coins and jewelry are 6+ feet deep in wet/dry sand, you are not going to find it with hobby units.

Hello Oscar,

The White's PI Pro or double coil are both nice hobby detectors. How deep does it go? Of course that depends on too many variables to answer. The Eric Foster detectors of a few years ago were very deep penetrating machines (I have one of his Deepstar units). The White's TDI is also a deep penetrator. Questions I have for you are: Where are you going to detect (land? in water? saltwater?) What are you hoping to find? (a deeply buried treasure chest? a gold coin? Elvis' Cadillac?) Detecting depth is part transmit power, part directionality of the coil, part coil diameter & number of turns, part detection technology (pulse induction, VDI, etc.), part receive coil and signal amplification circuitry, and one heck of a lot operator skill, familiarity with the machine, and luck. If you are after large targets, a two-box detector system or even ground penetrating radar may be the answer. If you are after small targets at significant depth, I am aware of no hobby detector that will help you. Maybe get a group of college kids from an archaeology class to dig and screen? Just kidding.
