I set little goals. I'd like to find a V Nickle, Barber Dime and Barber Quarter. After those I'll set new goals. Those are really hard coins to find here, so I may be at it for some time.
Sort of...I leave the house looking for gold everyday, and try to find enough clad to fund some fuel, I don't specifically target silver, since it is so dang loud when a fellow runs coil over it, its not too hard to miss, so I get a few stragglers every year just by being out, more silver rings than coins....I sure would like a Franklin half though, like the one you just found, so I dig those high screamers too..that would be a trophy for me, I've gotten plenty of JFK non silver halfs, just not a silver one yet...some of the guys that keep notes on their silver coin finds will tell you that Franklin Half is rare for us to find one. Last year I had a goal to find over 10k coins and got that accomplished, this year its gold. Good Luck on your wonderful adventure in search of your targets!

Yes, my current goal is to train the Tigger cat to prepare breakfast and a Latte and serve it to me in bed at 7:45 a.m. I would also like to meet a college girl with poor judgement and/or weak eyesight and/or a daddy fantasy.
In terms of metal detecting, I try to visualize the items I love to find: tokens, vintage toys, cowboy relics, etc., and ask for help in finding some cool stuff for "show & tell". Really, if I come home with one or two finds that I'm excited about, that's a good day in my book and I'm thankful for them. If the day is slow, I break out the reusable shopping bag and fill 'er up with recyling. I always pick up copper, brass & higher value metals, but some days I make a special project of cleaning an area up of aluminum and iron, too. I do a day or two of informal 'community service' each month. I take my hard rake along and tidy up an area, burying all the stuff that I can't recycle. I just think of it as expressing gratitude for all the enjoyment I've derived from my 'treasure' hunting.
My goal for this summer is to master the transition from Standard to Pro Mode on the ATPRO which I will use quite a bit this summer. The snow is out of the mountains so starting next week end I will load up the Honda 110 and take up my Gold Bug 2 and begin prospecting in 3 different areas for the gold stuff. I will still take my ATPRO up with me, though. It's going to be an awesome summer!!
My number one goal is to find any seated coin. My area was settled in the mid 1890's, so it will be a challenge. I also really really want to find a Walking Half...
mine`s pretty simple...gotta find something old when I go out. Even if it`s just a wheatie. I feel like it`s been a good trip when I do. took the at pro out tonight for maybe 25 min. 1983 hot wheel, 3 quarters, 1 dime and 3 cents and 1 wheatie!!! YAHOO!!! lol
Ahhh, the stuff of dreams!! I think you've got a better shot of teaching Tigger to cook than locating that young honey with questionable tastes!! But we can always dream, right!!
