Threshold drives me nuts so I run it 1 notch below the lowest setting. Just curious what other people are doing
Thanks

I have 4 detectors and run them all with the threshhold as low as possible but able to be heard. I like to know if something is nulling out.

What advantage do you feel you get by hearing the nulls?

I believe you are missing alot if you are running without a threshold. Like jim says you want to hear whats going on in the ground. If you hunt fields like myself I can guarantee you will miss little pockets of stuff becouse you can't sense the difference in the ground. When hunting with other people at new sites I am usually the one that finds the spot becouse I can just feel it coming. What I compare it to is an equalizer slowly starting to receive sound. Once at the site I believe the sounds while running a threshold gauge your speed and almost your timing in a sense. I used a gti which I felt better about running no threshold but wouldn't consider it with the explorer.

You get into a null and it means slow down, you tend to swing way to fast without a threshold to tell you your getting into iron.. Even important in semi clean areas as sometimes a very deep target will null the first time over it with a fast sweep, so even in clean ground it pays to sweep a null slowly a few times before moving on.. no threshold and you walk right over it
