Do you find it bothersome when people say Happy Holidays instead of Merry Christmas?

All this 'political correctness' is pushing God further and further away. To avoid having God in schools it is now Winter Break instead of Christmas vacation. At work we cannot say to people Merry Christmas - for fear we might offend someone - yet it seems ok to offend us by removing anything related from God, especially Christ from what we say or read, etc.

So I think I have come up with an answer to those who toss out 'Happy Holidays' your way instead of giving any mention to God by saying Mery Christmas.

Here is going to be my reply "And a Happy New Years Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Veterans' Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day and other holidays to you too." After all these are 'holidays' too and if they want to say 'Happy Holidays' then let's cover ALL the holidays - let's be Happy and not forget All those other holidays.

I think if they want to put up a Happy Holidays sign it should be left up year round since we have these holidays all year round. Though I find it hard to be Happy on Memorial Day knowing the price paid for freedom that others want to disregard 'for their rights'.

If I had the money I would open a mail order company that sold nothing like general Happy Holidays stuff. If it didn't say Merry Christmas it wouldn't be sold in my 'store'. I'd have no lights that says Holiday Lights. If the box didn't say Christmas Lights then it wouldn't be sold. I wouldn't sell Holiday Trees - they'd be Christmas Trees. If someone wanted the Holiday stuff I'd tell em to shop someplace else.

I'm getting fed up with this political correctness BS and am sure the 'store' would prosper because others feel the same way.

Anyway.

Merry Christmas to all - Peace on earth - Goodwill to men

Me too Pete!
I saw a funny cartoon the other day, three little kids sitting outside the principals office at school. One kid says "Why are you here?"
"I said the 'S' word"
"I said the 'F' word"
"I said Christmas."
It would be funny if it wasn't so close to the truth.
So MERRY CHRISTMAS to you and yours Pete! and God bless you in the new year and all the holy days hence. Let me know when you open the store, I'll bring people down from Canada to buy stuff there. But maybe it would be confiscated at the border?!?!

the believers keep Christ in Christmas and we don't give in, I think we are pleasing God. As for those who are lost? Let's just hope they are found soon! Merry CHRISTmas everyone! :)

honoring God anyway as Holidays is Holy Days and I'm going to say Merry Christmas rather loudly in response to their greetings and Happy New Year and May God Bless you all through the year, for Jesus is alive and not dead! Amen & Amen!

God Bless!
Betty
