Get soooo pumped for a hunt that its hard to sleep? It's like being a kid and knowing that your going to Disneyland in the morning! I got permission to hunt a very historic house that was built in 1878. That's pretty dang old out my way. In fact... It will be the oldest property I've ever hunted. I can't tell you much more except we will be filming a new episode of Dirt Fishin America this Thursday. Has it been hunted? Will we strike out? Or will we strike gold? I personally am hoping that we come up with a gold coin or something seated? Time will tell. Happy hunting.

I do too! Pretty much anywhere new, I find it hard to sleep haha. It might be a younger detectorist thing or the fact I am still new at it. I am 26 and have only been detecting for a year now. I have this house to try out. Also gonna try an upscale beach for the first time tomorrow. Sleep will be limited! haha

I don't think age has anything to do with it.....I'm 75 and if I can't sleep I'm swinging away.

wow do i ever, i go to sleep thinking about it and how to detect better and i go over my finds in my head and picture where il detect tomorow thats all thats on my mind till i fall asleep,then when i wake up my mind is right back at it

I started off with an Ace 250 last year, and now have a CTX...every site I have ever hunted is exciting all over again! Lol. I have an old park (180 and an original Loyalist homestead (1796) to hunt in the spring. Virgin soil and a new machine...dude...I never sleep anymore, and when I do, I dream of swinging the coil. What an awesome addiction!

Yup, we're hooked for sure. I just came down with a wicked bad cold too, but it ain't gonna stop me! We've had this hunt planned for a week now.

I have been detecting for a while and it does not change as long as you an addictLOL But you think you have it bad, every trip I make to UK is planned at least4-6 months in advance so your wore out before you get there!! Don't get me wrong i aint whining cause I keep going back
