Do You Do The Majority Of Your Hunts Alone Or With Friends???? :smoke:

Group, I usually go out with 1 to 6 other people, but we keep our distance from each other.

Being retired I go often out by myself to hunt. Once in a while on Saturdays five or six of us will go to a big park to detect.:detecting:

Cant find anyone else interested. So Im a loner too. I did have my nieces and nephew pretty interested yesterday at my mothers. I supplied them w/ a couple detectors but inexperienced and the oldest being 7. they quickly agreed it was easier to take the pennies I was quickly digging.

If you were smart you would make sure she finds something. Maybe even salt the area with a Rosco ring or two. A nitro moment is always good to keep the wife interested in the hobby.

You dummy. It's not competition when you are on the same team!!! Look at the great time Uncle Willy had with his wife MD'ing.

You have been lucky so far. A few years ago I took my cousin to a nice fishing lake where I had perpetual permission. Fishing was great there and I always filleted fish for the owner that I had known since I was 10 years old. I stopped each time to ask if I could go fishing even though I had permission. One day I saw Gordon at the local convenience store. He told me that my cousin had been fishing there several times and didn't close the gates properly. He went on to say that we were not welcome there. I felt so bad inside. It was just like my reputation was now zero. I called my cousin and he said that he and some buddies had been fishing there. I told him that he wasn't welcome there and he messed it up for me too! He really didn't care and I never treated him the same since. That was about 18 years ago. To this day I resent him. This too has happened to me with detecting. The second time was just about a month ago. I researched a site for about 60 days. I went to the historical society. Copied maps, and secured permission to hunt several acres of old resort land and water. I figured I would need some help. So I asked my Nephew if he wanted to hunt with me. He has had a detector for about a year but has only hunted maybe a total of 4 hours. I told him that he had to go with me to hunt. I told him that I had the permission and knew the names and departments of the three people that gave me permission. He called me on a Saturday and I told him I had received permission. He was excited. So much that he took off work the following Monday and hunted the site without me. I was boiling mad! I will never take him hunting again! Nor will I give him any advice. I choose to hunt alone.

Always alone but recently have been looking for someone near by for a hunting partner.
There are some places I would like to go but not by myself. Really need some back up.
