Do you belong to a MD club or not?

I found a club 10 miles away from me, and I was wondering if you were associated with a MD club?

Are you talking the forum itself or individuals in it. I belong to a club in CT. Yankee Territory Coinshooters. It's a good club.

Looks like it's time to take the old man along with you!!! Bribe him into digging for you. Just kidding of course. You'll find a treasure partner. It's fun (and more secure) to hunt with someone else. I hunt the deep woods sometimes, and It helps to have two sets of eyes.. HH

Dont really see that happening , I did try that with my son, and he got away with most
of my Tootsie Toys. If he dug it he kept it :argue:

There are four clubs here in the DFW Metroplex. I belong to the newest one as we meet about 5 miles from my house once a month. We normally have about 30 people at the once a month meetings. I enjoy it allot. There are door prizes, raffles, finds of the month prizes in three categories. Once a month we have a fun hunt and the prizes are usually silver coins. Also have a Hunt-master in charge of securing sites to hunt (has to be a good talker). The best part to me though is getting to know other MDer's, swapping notes. There is all types of detectors used so you have the opportunity to try other makes and models. We have one member that uses a walker, has an old Garrett he lays across the handrails until he gets to the area he wants to hunt and man he has a ton of stories about detecting starting with his first detector, a Heathkit put it together yourself thing. Anyway, you should at least visit the club and see what you think. You don't have to join to sit in and see what goes on.

I hunt with a group sometimes but we aren't organise enough to form a club. There's a large Michigan club about 40 mile south of me but is just too far away.I have met these members at a large hunt meet one year and the men and women of this club are a great group of people with a lot of interesting stories and history of Southeastern MI.If I had a club ten miles away I would join.

I joined a local club about three year's ago after pretty much hunting solo for thirty plus year's and find the club events and comradeship with fellow members a sokid plus. Clubs offer competive fun, learning experiences and often times one gets to view some neat, interesting and valuable finds. HH jim tn

I don't belong. I have thought about it but maybe I am too much of a loner. I hardly ever plan my trips and don't really like to schedule my fun activities. I usually plan on hunting about 5 minutes before I leave the house. Maybe a little longer before I leave if I can't find my shoes or keys. That kind of attitude doesn't lend itself to clubs. Don't have anything against people in clubs or the clubs themselves. Just not for me right now.

There was one a few years ago, and I was in it. The club is now defunct.
