Do this when you order a CTX 3030

If you have not owened a Minelab before I highly recommend you get the book - The CTX 3030 Beach and Water Hunters Guide by Gary T Drayton - it will let you understand how to use the detector so much faster. I got a ctx 3030 a couple weeks ago and read & re-read the Minelab Instruction Manual but was having a hard time putting things together. I got the book and read it and it was just like snapping a finger, things start coming together on how to use it.

How hard did you research online? Diggin4history and a couple other guys have posted lots of vids. I saw the Drayton book on E-bay but was kinda holding off to see how it went the first few hunts on my own now that my 3030 has showed up. Course, it won't break 32 degrees here in MI for the next 3 months, so I'm mostly just wishing...

You can find the book on E-Bay if your dealer doesn't have it. ( The CTX-3030 Beach and Water Hunter"s Guide's ) Price is $19.95 plus $3.00 shipping This will be the best $23 you spend if you buy the CTX-3030 and haven"t owned a Minelab before. Print off the Instruction Manual & XChange 2 Users Manual and get a 3 Ring Binder and anything else you want to keep about the CTX 3030 in one place, or you could spend $50 and take the CD and have a book made. I hope this helps New Buyers of this fine machine. This book is written so after you read the Instruction Manual and this book it helps you understand the settings on the machine, even if you never take it to the beach.

Sounds like it may help those of us who have no mine lab experience.

Today was my 3rd 1 hour hunt. Felt a lot more confident and found 11 clad
Quarters, 5 clad dimes, a bunch of penny's, a junk ring and a $1 coin. VDI
Seemed a little off for me but I was listening for the tones then looking at VDI.

I like the machine. The weight didn't seem to fatigue my shoulder. Had a nice time
Hunting.

Looking for that silver.
