Do Not go by COLORS.....

Just a word of advice... If you are in Analize mode or pipoint mode and are getting use to going by the color band....dont. I was hunting with my buddy Yazoo and we started talking about our hunting and he said that when he pinpointed or anylized, if it was in the red color band he knew it was good. I told him NO, it was in the green band... Come to find out, What ever color scheme you pick...it will change your color on the frequency's. Example.. with my color scheme, 2.5 htz always shows up as green... On his, 2.5 always shows up as red... Just a little insight for those that don't know...

I saw on another post where someone said that on some screens the color green means good and on another screen green means bad? Surely tell me that the color ID (on the same machine) is consistent with the frequency.

Also, can you customize the colors so that green always means the same frequency regardless of the screen?

Sorry to ask newbie questions about the V3, I haven't purchased mine yet...but soon will be!

I'm not sure if I understand this - I thought each color is assigned to a frequency and the operator can change a color preference in the Expert menu if they wish.
Green is 2.5 kHz unless the operator wants 2.5 to be another color via options available in the settings.

Depending on what you are looking for each color (ie frequency) on the analyze screen can be good or bad. 22.5 (blue) responds best to Lower + VDI's / less conductive metals, 2.5 (green) reponds best with higher +VDI's more conductive metals ( ie silver ), and 7.5 (red) is a compromise between these on the analyze screen.

On the pinpont screen green is for accepted VDI's and red is for rejected VDI's.

The colors in pinpoint do not mean the same colors in analyze . The position (high, medium, low) does relate to the colors on analyze ( blue, red, and green respectively).

As of right now I haven't gotten into the expert menu enough to see if these colors can be operator set.

The colors can be set to any color for rejected targets and accepted targets for the discriminator. Also, the colors can be set for the frequencies and they will be the same for all screens dealing with frequencies in that program. However, changing to a different program the colors and other settings may change. One way of of keeping the same settings throughout all programs would be to use the common settings in the (Expert Menu/Program/Setup/Excludes/(program name or all programs)/select settings). The settings and how they are set will come from the program called Common under Programs, So the Common Program can be setup for desired settings and be used in all other programs by excluding those settings from the other programs (Expert Menu/Program/Setup/Excludes/(program name or all programs)/select settings). This will use the common program settings.

In the Spectragraph screen, colors denote VDI bands, not frequency. For pinpoint & analyze screens, colors denote frequency, and most programs use green/red/blue for 2.5k/7.5k/22.5k. I think Hi-Pro and Mixed-mode Pro are different. You can assign colors any way you want (Mixed-mode Pro was designed to showcase custom colors), which is handy for those who have trouble seeing certain colors.

I'm sorry this statement in my above post

"On the pinpont screen green is for accepted VDI's and red is for rejected VDI's"

Should of read on the "spectragraph screen" not "pinpoint screen"

Same for this statement

"The colors in pinpoint do not mean the same colors in analyze"

"Pinpoint" should of been "spectragraph"

I knew what I meant to say but said it wrong .. dang terminologies :rage:.......... again sorry for the confusion.

Thanks Carl

If you all make a video for the more in-depth features of the V3, I'd definitely purchase it!
