Do most people use pinpoint or discrimination mode on the minelab excalibur II

What mode do most people hunt in when using their Minelab Excalibur II ....Pinpoint or Discrimination ? If Discrimination mode what setting ? Thanks.

I think most people hunt in Disc and run it at the minimum or one. That's how I hunt when in Disc as well. I now hunt most times in pinpoint. Both my Excals have been modded with the remote pinpoint mod. Best thing I ever did. Really enjoy the added versatility.

Majority still use disc. If you dont have it moded you stand a very good chance of breaking the switch over time. The mod is worth having done. Settings are the same....... except we run just out of AUTO with the sensitivity. I like to adjust my threshold a bit higher as well since in disc you set it low so weak targets can break the threshold. IF you do the mod.......do the headphones. Thats worth even more than the PP mod IMO. Next you are going to ask me who does them lol. Matty St James and in the winter Joe (ole beach nut). ML did, but has suspended it until they get caught up........ which may be never.

On the wet sand I run in disc (lowest setting) and sensitivity where I am not getting a lot of false signals. In the water I run in pin point with sensitivity up close to the auto setting.

Since I have not had my machine modified I do not always run in pin point as I would have to be constantly shifting back and forth between pin point and disc to check to see if it is a target I want to dig.

Thanks guys....I appreciate the help !
