Do metal detectors interfere hoseless dive computers?

I'm considering getting a hoseless dive computer with a transmitter, has anyone tried one while detecting? I was wondering if the detector would interfere with the computers signal.

Thanks Mickie, I've been looking at the Aeris Elite so thats good to hear. I use a CZ-21, I'll just hope I get the same results.

Can't see it being a problem. Afterall the coil is away from the transmitter and wrist computer, and as long as you're fanning the sand with the other hand (doesn't have the computer mounted), you shouldn't have a problem.

I use a barracuda PI m it fires off 500 pulses a second. Blanks any other detector right out if its within 20 feet of me. essentially what you want to know if the machine you use will interfere with the radio waves being sent from the pressure inducer on the tank to the wrist monitor. From experience, I borrowed an hose less air pressure transducer and tried it while using my Barracuda. I also had a hose pressure gauge attached to my reg as well as the hose less model. My pulse machine did interfere with the hose less model although it was intermittent.

The lesson I learned was this. While a hose model is a pain to keep track of, it delivers information critical to me as a diver. The hose less model would work and them not work. When the detector was turned off, it worked flawlessly. That in itself was a deal killer. I use only direct attachments for air and pressure display because my life is worth more than the convenience of a hose less device.

ya pays a dime takes a chance. as for different frequency if you are dealing with a PI machine, it has in my experience interfered with radio devices regardless of the frequency because the emitter for the pulses is way too close and the pulses overpower everything within a certain area. In effect a signal jammer if you will. For my barracuda that distance seems to be 20 feet from the coil in a circles. everyone has choices, you only hope you make the right one. Me I been diving since 12069, I hope I get another 20 years at it. Treasure is pleasure

ProPlus II is what I use and I love it!
