Do I need an X-1 PROBE

Hey again everyone I keep hearing alot about the X-1 probe for the SE. What exactly does it do? Does it work like a pin pointer? Does it speed up target recovery? Is it alot heavier? I just want to know a little about it before I fork out the money . Thanks

In my experience...and granted I've only owned three. My first one was on a Garrett GTI 2500.My second was on my wifes ACE250.And now I have one on my Explorer II. I've only used them for about three years. On each detector they worked very well. Recovery time is greatly reduced. Remember it will use the settings your running on our SE. I can compare the X1 probe to various other pinpointers I've used, and I would say for my Relic, coin shoots, and locating any find the Sunray line of probes is without doubt the finest product on the market I've used to this point. You can also find a penny with it at approx...3 inches
Hope this helps!

It is the best accessory you can get for a detector. There are simply no questions about it. It reads the same as the machine, and you will find that it saves you time when you are kneeling, you don't have to pick the detector up to scan a hole. I use mine all of the time. The ONLY downside is that you have to run your coil wire up the outside, UNLESS you make a hole in the shaft of the probe upper stem which will allow you to run your coil wire inside the stems.

You WON'T regret the purchase of the X-1 probe.

Switch to the probe and it integrates working through the machine circuitry including the display. Press pinpoint on the machine and it becomes a hand held pinpointer. It's like a small coil for the explorer without actually swapping coils since it's already wired it.
As far as I'm concerned, they work great when needed and used.
I also use the electronic hand held pinpointers for my machines that don't have the SunRay probe.
Don't always need one, but when the occasion comes along, they can sure be a welcome piece of equipment.

Yes it makes the detector heavier but it is well worth the purchase. Just one word of caution I see nobody mentioned....The toggle switch on the box has a very thin rubber boot around it, I wore it off the first week cause I was not being careful switching it off and on... plus sometimes I had gloves on, which desensitizes my fingers to touch. It could use a little improvement on the switch if you ask me.....but like I say it is worth every penny......
