Do I need a manual ground balancing PI??

Crabman

Sorry if this is a newbie question. I've got some VLF hunting under my belt, but I've decided it is time to add a PI unit to my arsenal of beach hunting tools. I hunt in southern california and its my understanding that our beaches are more mineralized than most. There is plenty of black sand sometimes in the pockets that the goodies are in. I tend to hunt in the wet sand and suds.

I've really got my eye on the detectorpro headhunter pulse as that is within my price range. The Whites dual field is also about in my price range and I understand it allows the user to manually ground balance where the headhunter PI does not.

Is this a huge advantage? What are the benefits? I really appreciate all the help. Any suggestions on a PI unit that would suit me and my beaches?

Thanks much in advance!

Tony,

Just so you are aware, the Whites Dual Field does not have manual ground balancing. It has a Pulse Delay, Threshold and Gain adjustments only.

The only WATER PROOF PI that I know of that has ground balancing is the Garrett Infinium (but there may be others !).

The whites dual field is not affected by black sand and tunes it out automatically, others i can't coment on
