Will they allow it in your "carry on" luggage in today's climate at the airport? I know Golddigger says he does it but he's as old as dirt and looks harmless. How about the rest of you?
I did it once before 9/11 and had no problems with it in my checked luggage. Honestly though, the airport is so much hassle these days, I'd ship the detector ahead.
Hi Guvner and All
I am a professional musician (electric bass) and I have been working on cruise ships for the last 8 years. Im in Canada and have flown to all parts of the world to get to my jobs. I carry my Excal II and Explorer SE (control box) on the plane in my "carry on". The only problem I had on my last flight home from Coppenhagen was the weight of my "carry on". It was over the limit so I had to put it in with my checked baggage. This was the first time in 8 years that they actually weighed my "carry on". Everytime I went through security I had to open my "carry on" for inspection and it always turned into an interesting conversation with the male and female inspectors and I was always able to take my detectors onto the plane. I also carry a battery pack for my Explorer and Excal in my "carry on" but I have never had to turn either of them on for further inspection.
